Download ChronAlert Free
Perpetual. No account. No expiration. Install it on a Windows PC or run it on a Linux machine and it becomes an always-on situational-awareness display you can view from any screen on your network.
Microsoft doesn't think you know how to use your own computer
When you download or run ChronAlert, Windows may pop a blue "Windows protected your PC" box, or your browser may mutter that the file "isn't commonly downloaded." That is SmartScreen, and it flags every app that is not signed with a pricey certificate. It is complaining about a missing paid signature, not anything wrong with ChronAlert. The big vendors rent that badge from Microsoft every year; we would rather spend it on the app. What you download is the exact installer built from our own source, with nothing bundled and nothing phoning home.
If your browser blocks the download
- Chrome / Edge: on the download, click the … (or the warning), then Keep → Keep anyway.
When you run the installer
- Double-click ChronAlert-Setup.exe.
- See "Windows protected your PC"? Click More info.
- Click Run anyway. Done.
Optional: right-click the file → Properties → tick Unblock → OK, then run it. Prefer no gatekeeper at all? The Linux build has none of this.
What you get free, forever
- All core live feeds and radar
- Feed Health with LIVE / STALE / OFFLINE grading
- Passive weather and emergency alerts on the map and crawl
- LAN viewing from TVs, tablets, phones and other PCs
